Fieldkraft | Website Design
BJ Creative was tasked by Bill Field to build a website for his pest control business, based in Blatherwycke, Leicestershire. Bill had had a website, but it was an online solution that whilst great at the start of the business, as it was provided free, was difficult to maintain, complicated to add to and was no longer serving him well enough for his business.
Bill had had the site registered on Google Maps and Google Businesses, and was seeing the results of this. However, this had since expired and before committing back to get registered and out there for more people to see, he wanted to refresh with the future in mind so that he could expand the business.
Web Design
The main drive of this rebranding was to focus more attention on people getting in contact with Bill about their pest control problems. He was already using a blog and posting frequently on it, though not taking full advantage of its power.
As this business was already running and had been for some time, there were no plans for a complete overhall, so the colours for the website were pretty set. The base colour of green with a red highlight were already used on clothing and vans for the business.
We used the green base throughout the whole site and added the red highlights at the trigger colour. The site was designed to be mobile responsive from the start, and this meant that customers could get access to Bill whenever they needed to.
Recommendations
We recommended a posting schedule to Bill so that he could gain the most impact from the Wordpress Blog. The constantly refreshing content being a small tool in raising Fieldkraft's SEO ranking.
The registering of the site and business on many local directories was also passed across so that people are able to get an accurate response when look for this very specific service.
The Build
We built the site using ASP.NET 4.0 and incorporated a contact page and used Master Pages throughout the site.
The site was initially hosted by BJ Creative on our server so that changes could be amended quickly at our end and this also then enabled us to managed the domains chosen for the website.
