Corp Assess | Website & Logo Design
BJ Creative was tasked by Zoe Wurfel to build a locked online assessment tool that recruiters could use to throughly analyse potential candidates for industry specific roles. The software was custom designed and written and is then able to be whitelabelled for third party entities. The portal had to be secure and had to be able to withstand potential cheats. Due to the time constraints, IP locks were in place as well as global timing so that candidates could change device, but still be in the same session. We also applied blocks to prevent screen capture during the session so that notes could not be taken before the upload deadline.
We began the project by working up some flowcharts so that we could understand the purpose of the website and how this could be made to ensure that candidates could not cheat their way through the process.
Establishing how and when candidates would be sent their login credentials enabled us to build the site so that it could stand as a separate entity without the technology we used to build it being stolen. Candidates are sent their unique login credentials to their specified address. Once they click on the link embedded within, the disclaimer signs off various security implementations we put in place.
Web Design
The start of this process was the request from us to understand what the candidates would need to undertake and how Corp Assess wished to receive the results. To this end, Corp Assess provided us with a demo case study that they had previously used via mail. This unfortunately gave candidates and unspecified amount of time to get the work done and respond, meaning that a true level of satisfactory completion was not known.
The initial focus was on a way to timelock the portal so that candidates could not re-enter after their allotted time without contacting their account manager. We had to protect against multiple logins on differing devices, in different time periods. To acheive this, we used a session state that was server based rather than user based. This meant that they had no way of fooling the system in to letting them change their local clock, or by logging in again.
Recommendations
We recommended some key words that should be focused on and we also went through some of the rival sites that Corp Assess would be coming up against.
The Build
We built the site using ASP.NET 4.0 and incorporated a contact page and used Master Pages throughout the site. The site was made mobile responsive from the start, to ensure that the best experience was had across the board.
The site was initially hosted by BJ Creative on our server so that changes could be amended quickly at our end and this also then enabled us to managed the domains chosen for the website.
